Power & Society registrations close this Friday

Secure one of the last places for this two-day, alumni-only programme

Register for the Cranlana Advanced: Power & Society Symposium now

The Power & Society Symposium explores the criteria by which we evaluate the exercise of power: our own, that of others, and that of the institutions and structures that influence our world. The exercise of power is rarely, if ever, neutral. It either furthers the good society or derails it. Yet it is a slippery concept to define and an even more difficult one to evaluate. But if we are to be moral agents in society it is a challenge we must face.

This two-day programme offers Cranlana alumni the opportunity to re-engage with the possibility of a good society by exploring one of its most fundamental elements. New texts and ideas are introduced that, through the familiar format of shared inquiry, tests our notions of power and its expressions in our lives.

As with all Cranlana programmes the symposium is limited to 20 participants.

DATES: 24–25 February 2017

VENUE: Cranlana, 62 Clendon Road, Toorak

COST: $2040 (incl. GST)
